Aciphex
/Aciphex, containing the active ingredient rabeprazole, is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions related to excessive stomach acid. It is available as an oral tablet and is a prescription medication. Patients are advised to be cautious as Aciphex may cause gastrointestinal side effects and should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity to rabeprazole or any of its components.
Interactions
Atazanavir: The absorption of atazanavir may be reduced when taken with rabeprazole. It is advised to separate the dosing of these medications by at least 12 hours.
Warfarin: Rabeprazole may increase the anticoagulant effect of warfarin. Monitoring of INR is recommended when these drugs are co-administered.
Clopidogrel: Rabeprazole may reduce the effectiveness of clopidogrel. Consider alternative therapies or monitor for reduced efficacy.
Digoxin: Rabeprazole may increase the absorption of digoxin, leading to elevated levels. Monitor digoxin levels when used together.
