Description
Anoro is a combination medication that belongs to the class of long-acting beta-agonists (LABAs) and is used for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is administered via inhalation using a dry powder inhaler and is available by prescription only. Patients are advised that Anoro may increase the risk of asthma-related death and should not be used as a rescue medication for acute bronchospasm.
Interactions
- Beta-adrenergic antagonists: May reduce the effectiveness of vilanterol. Patients are advised to monitor for decreased efficacy.
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs): May enhance the cardiovascular effects of vilanterol. Caution is advised when using these agents together.
