Synjardy
/Synjardy is a prescription medication that belongs to the class of sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is administered as an oral tablet. Patients are advised that Synjardy may increase the risk of urinary tract infections and should not be used in individuals with severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease.
Interactions
Diuretics: May increase the risk of dehydration and hypotension. Monitor blood pressure and renal function.
Insulin and Insulin Secretagogues: Increased risk of hypoglycemia. Consider dose adjustments of insulin or secretagogues.
ACE Inhibitors: Risk of hypotension may be increased, especially after the first dose. Monitor blood pressure and renal function.
Alcohol: May enhance the risk of hypoglycemia. Patients are advised to limit alcohol intake.
