Description
Bystolic is a beta-blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is taken as an oral tablet and is available by prescription only. Patients are advised to be cautious as Bystolic may cause a decrease in heart rate and should not be used in patients with severe bradycardia or certain heart conditions.
Interactions
- Other antihypertensive agents: May enhance the hypotensive effect of nebivolol. Monitor blood pressure and adjust the dose of nebivolol as necessary.
- Digoxin: Co-administration may increase digoxin levels. Monitor digoxin levels and adjust dosage if needed.
- MAO inhibitors: Concurrent use may lead to increased effects of nebivolol. Avoid use together.
- Alcohol: May increase the hypotensive effect of nebivolol. Patients are advised to limit alcohol consumption.
