FAQs about Cozaar
What should I do if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose of Cozaar (losartan), take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for a missed dose. This information is provided in the Patient Counseling Information section of the label.
Can I stop taking Cozaar suddenly?
The label advises against abrupt discontinuation of Cozaar without consulting your prescriber. Stopping suddenly may lead to a return of the condition being treated. Always discuss any changes in your medication regimen with your healthcare provider.
Can I take Cozaar while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Cozaar is not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can harm the fetus. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, inform your healthcare provider. It is not known if losartan passes into breast milk, so consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
How should I store Cozaar?
Cozaar should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the medication in its original container and out of reach of children. Proper storage helps maintain the effectiveness of the medication.
